Though a native of Akropong-Akuapem in the Eastern Region of Ghana, the brush wizard had 15 years of his life entangled in the web of art after he realized his call had nothing to do with architecture as he had earlier on thought.The former product of Akropong Salem and currently the CEO/President at House of Safori, an internationally acclaimed art gallery in USA, never imagined becoming one of America’s rising young painters.

He arrived in the U.S.A in 1990 to study architecture at Howard University in Washington D.C, from where he later moved to San Francisco, where he took up painting as a hobby. With his artistic gift which seems to come effortlessly, the self-taught artist tries his hands on all kinds of mediums, themes, class, and does it with ease. He creates contemporary images depicting his love for jazz music, family life and modern sculptures of African themes.

With his high corporate sense at work, he mastered the courage of delving into corporate painting. No wonder major international corporations have for some time now commissioned him to produce original artwork for their corporate offices around the world. Sticking to an intense and focused work regime, Yaw Safori has treated art as an all-consuming life pursuit.
